Assignments

There are three types of responsibilities for the students of EMP:      

     A) all students (except for "extra-responsible" ones)
     B) "extra-responsibles": Turkish students
     C) "extra-responsibles": Erasmus students

A) all students:

all students (both erasmus and turkish students except for the extra-responsibles) are due to enter one quiz question for the each week's text by using the "quotation entry" button in the menu until SUNDAY 23:59 before the class (remember that you might get extra or lesser points according to the quality of your questions) note: each student may also prepare some discussion questions to talk and elaborate in the class. use THIS LINK to enter the quotations 

B) extra-responsibles (turkish students): 

Turkish students are responsible for one reading during the term. For this reading they are supposed to fullfil the following conditions: send your assignments to the following e-mail address: tolgaislam@yandex.com

1) the extra-responsibles are due to highlight the unknown words on the pdf and write their turkish definitions on the pdf using comment tool and send it to me. click for an example DUE TO FRIDAY 23:59 before the class

2) the extra-responsibles are due to prepare a vocabulary list of the unknown words of the text they are responsible for in excel format and send it to me. DUE TO FRIDAY 23:59 before the class (unless it is stated otherwise). there will be three columns in the excel (as in the example below): 

column A: english word (that you do not know the definition of)
column B: turkish meaning in the text
column C: the usage in the text (put the exact sentence in the text, correct the format and write the unknown word in CAPITAL and BOLD LETTERS):

note: There should be NO MISTAKE in the spelling of the english words in the first column (column A). Each mistake will lower the total point by 5 points. The vocabulary list should contain at least 150 words. 3)  the extra-responsible students are due to send me 10 different text from the reading upon which they are planning to elaborate in the class. the text you have selected might be a sentence or group of sentences. send me a powerpoint file of 10 + 1= 11 slides. Write your names in the first slide and paste the text you have selected in the next 10 slides (for each text you want to elaborate use one single slide). choose texts that have a potential to create discussions in the class. 

sorumlu olduğunuz metin içinde sınıf içinde üzerinde konuşmak ve tartışmak üzere okuma içinden 10 farklı metin seçin. Bu metinler tek bir cümle de olabilir, bir kaç cümle de olabilir. Bunu 10 + 1 = 11 slaytlık bir powerpoint dosyası olarak gönderin, ilk slaytta isimleriniz ve makalenin künyesi yazsın, sonraki 10 slaytta da metin içinden seçtiğiniz cümle ya da cümle grupları yer alsın. (seçtiğiniz metnin altına sayfa no.'larını ve kaçıncı paragrafta olduklarını da belirtin). DUE TO TUESDAY 23:59 before the class 

4) the extra-responsible students should prepare a mind-map/concept-map of the reading they are responsible for. you can use any software you want to (including powerpoint). to download a free and nice mind-map software click THIS LINK. DUE TO TUESDAY 23:59 before the class 

C) extra-responsibles (erasmus students): 

Erasmus students are responsible for two different readings during the term. For therse readings they are supposed to fullfil the following conditions: send your assignments to the following e-mail address: tolgaislam@yandex.com
